Ribbon Cake.
A good friend of mine called me for a special ribbon cake for her daughter's birthday. Is this cool or what? I love how it looks. Simple, elegant and beautiful!

Garden Cake - Nutella Buttercream Goodness
For those that follow my cakes, you will remember the Winnie the Pooh reveal the gender cake I did a while ago. For those that are new here, you can check it out at :
The mommy to be's husband got in touch with me to make her a birthday cake but with some meaning behind it. I was thrilled! He mentioned she loves butterflies and M&M's. We got to work and after some inspiration from the internet, we managed to come up with this design. The butterflies symbolize their growing family as do the 4 ladybugs. The M is the first letter of her name and incorporates the M&M's. And what' the best part? Well, once they cut into it, they found delicious chocolate cake with Nuttella buttercream filling - OH MY GOD, sooooooooooo good. I have to admit, being a Nutella addict, I found myself spooning leftover buttercream out of the bowl after the cake was finished. I had to do a good run to make up for that little pleasure but of boy, it was really worth it!

Final product. I hope the mommy loved her birthday cake as much as I loved making it for her.

If you haven't tried this product, it is amazingly good. A hazelnut spread of chocolate heaven. (Don't judge, I love it, I can't help myself!)

The after shot of the Nutella buttercream. Yes, those are markings of my spoon. After I finished the cake, I found myself going back to the bowl. I eventually had to pour water into the mixing bowl so I wouldn't keep going back. Yes, Nutella is that good!

Cherry Blossom Cake
Sometimes a cake is more than just a delicious cake. This is that type of cake for me. It was made for a woman that loves red and black. Naturally, I thought of cherry blossoms when I was thinking of her. The cake reminds me of her; beautiful, happy and bold. If you're thinking this was for my mom, you got it right! Happy Birthday to my mom and my best friend.
